SELWYN ANNIVERSARY.

CELEBRATION TO-MORROW.

There are in the Auckland Province a number of memorials to the great Bishop Selwyn in the churches that he designed land built. To-morrow the 75th anniverisary of one is to be celebrated at Northcote, it is the St. John the Baptist Church and was built in IS.">9. At that far-distant period, the parish comprised the whole of the North Shore and extended almost to Whangarei; to-day there are parishes at Devonport, Takapuna and Birkenhead as well.

The Primate, Archbishop Averill, will preach at the morning service and this will be attended by the Mayor of Northcote and his council with representatives of other local bodies.
