MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. New Cornish Point. —For the week ended June 16 the level, south, towards the channel has been advanced 20ft, making the total distance 25ft, from tile bottom of the incline tunnel. This leaves approximately another 30ft to be driven In the rock to reach the channel. Work has been carried on with three shifts, two men on each, with the rock drilling machine. The country driven through was rock, more of a slate nature than formerly, and does not require to be timbered. A utart has been made to excavate in the rock the chamber for the installation of the pumps. The floor of the chamber will be 10ft above the bottom of the incline. This will provide for the working of the pump on about a 12ft suction. There is a slight increase of water making In the level aa driving proceeds.
