MANUKAU CLUB. FORTY-THIRD ANNUAL MEETING. The forty-third annual meeting of the Manukau Yacht Club was held in the clubhouse last evening, the president, Mr. W. Marks, presiding over a good attendance. The commodore, Mr. A. A. Coates, in his report stated that the club had a very successful season in spite of the difficult times. The register shows an improvement, 21 yachts and 12 launches being on the books, an increase of ten for the season Twelve races were held, nine on the harbour course ana three cruising events to Cornwallis. The club regatta was also well patronised by competitors and there was a big attendance at the clubhouse during the afternoon. The donors and honorary members were Invited to a fishing excursion nnd all enjoyed the outing The prize distribution again took the form of a dance in the Foresters' Hall and was well attended. The weekly dances in the clubhouse were also popular and returned £22 to club funds. The three Z class boats were in good order, but the interest evinced by the boys was not as keen «s it should he, although the club's representatives in tne Cornwell Cup c °ntest did very well. The balance-sheet submitted bv Mr. C A Osborne, hon. treasurer, showed receipts totalling £115 16/ and expenses £110 7/8 leaving a credit of £14 8/4 on the vear's was £105" balailCo of ass °t s over liabilities
Mr. Marks, in moving the adoption of the report, thanked Mr. Coates for his good work during the year. The election of officers for 193-1-5 resulted as follows Patron, Sir. A, Osliornc, who retired from the position of lion, treasurer after a period of L'O years' servicc, and to : Mr. TV. Vauglian who" had been starter and hnndicnpper for a similar time. The diiestion of free hauling out. sites for members, advocated by Mr. Barnes, was referred to the incoming committee to report at the next general meeting. Mr. .T. TV." Rawlinson was unanimously nominated as a life member, which will be confirmed at the next meeting on July 4 A vote of thanks to the Press concluded the business.
