ASLEEP IN CAR.

FINE OF £5 IMPOSED,

A charge of being found in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car in Cook Street earl/ this morning was preferred against John McTigue, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court thie morning. He pleaded guilty.

Sub-Inspector Edwards eaid that at 2.10 o'clock this morning- a constable found accused asleep in his car, and that it took some little time to awaken him.

On behalf of accused, Mr. Goldstine said that another man had started to drive accused to his lodgings laet evening, but had left the car at the foot of College Hill, and McTigue had driven to "Cook Street. Realising that he was not in a fit condition to drive, he had stopped, and had been in the car for two hours before the police came. - A fine of £5 was imoosed, and accused's license was endorsed.
