Exceptionally high scores were made to-day in several first-class cricket matches. Kent, in the match against Essex, declared at 804 runs for four wickets, which is the highest total reached in England in a county match 3 ince 1899. Ashdown made 333, and Ames 202 not out. Lancashire, against Glamorgan, declared at 514 for seven wickets, Tyldesley making 239.
