WORK AT TE AWAMUTU.
A QUIET MORNING,
PROTOMINT WELL FORWARD.
The flags were out about 40ft for fast work at Te Awamutu yesterday morning, and the going was good. The inner plough and inner grass tracks were also available. Course Proper. Protominfc went away from the fivefurlong peg in company with Arawa Rose. After traversing two furlongs Arawa Rose was eased up. Protomint running on to take 1.7%. the first two in 275. Protomint. lias only to go away kindly to have excellent prospects in the . Cornwall Handicap. Loombination was not being bustled to place six furlongs behind in 1.20. Seven furlongs in 1.34 saw Tuaheahe finishing on very strongly. This fellow lias been doing plenty of serviceable work since the Te Kuiti fixture, and should give an improved display during the forthcoming meeting at Ellerslie. Sweet Rose wr.s allotted four furlongs, which she completed with ease in 565. Safe Bank was easing up at the end of three furlongs in 39 2-5«.
On the plough, Solarium was allotted strong work over a couple of rounds, and similar tasks were done by King's Knave and Rulable, Departures to-day for Ellerslie include Protomint, Loombination and l Tuaheahe. W. Stone leaves with Solarium to-morrow.
