MINOR CLUBS' BALL.

There was a large gathering of members and friends at the Orange Hall on Thursday evening when the Auckland Minor Clubs' Hardcourt Association second annual ball brought to a conclusion a very successful season. During the varied dance programme trophies won by clubs and players during the past season were presented. In his remarks the patron, Mr. F. Brooke Taylor, commented upon the rapid growtn of tne association which now had affiliated to it 17 clubs, with an aggregate membership of 350. Mrs. Brooke Taylor made the presentation of the championship cup to the season's winners, the Islington Tennis Club. A shield, presented by herself for interclub competition was won by the Transport Club. Trophiee for the Easter championships played at the Domain courts were presented to the following players: —A division,: Singles, Miss M. Hay how; M. Moore; doubles, Misses M. Hayhow and H. Elliot; E. Young and T. Mason; combined, Miss M. Hayhow and J. Stewart. B division: Singles, Miss V. Gilpin, L. Anderson; doubles, Mrs. J. Kay and' Mrs. J. Callander; L. Anderson and C. Hargreaves; combines, Miss V. Gilpin and A. Mason. The winners all received enthusiastic ovations. At the conclusion of the prize-giving Mrs. Brooke Taylor was presented with a bouquet.
