ST. ANDREW'S SOCIETY.
LADIES' AUXILIARY MEETS. There was a very large attendance of members of the St. Andrew's Ladies' Auxiliary, when a. very enjoyable At Home was held injlie Penwouien's Club rooms yesterday afternoon. Mrs, W. Black presided and extended a hearty welcome to all present. A feature of the afternoon was an address 011 a trip to Scotland, given by Miss E. Campbell. The speaker gave an outline of the entire trip, and then dwelt upon certain parts in a more detailed manner. She gave a particularly graphic description of Abbotsford, tlie home of .Sir Walter Scott, where she had been .delighted to see so many of his personal effects still treasured. Many beautiful spots of historic interest were also visited, each place being vividly described by the speaker with keen appreciation.
A bouquet, was presented to Miss Campbell by Mrs. D. McCrone aiul a vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Wright. The programme also included items by Mrs. de Berg, who sang, Mrs. Earl and Mrs. do Berg, who gav« a duet, Mrs. Matthews, who - recited, Miss M. Matthews,' who sang, and Miss Zira Connors, who gave a tap dance. Mrs. Ivohn, a member, who has been absent for a considerable time, was welcomed, and tea was later served by members of the committee.
