COMING OF AGE.
Mr. aijd Mrs. A. M. Laing, of 31, Dignan ~.Road, Point Chevalier, entertained their friends at a most enjoyable evening held in the Hallyburton Johnstone Hall'on Saturday evening, to celebrate the coming of age of their son Hugh. Over 100. friends gathered to do honour to the guest, who was the recipient of many handsome and useful presents. Songs, games and dancing provided enjoyment for all, the Mount Albert Ex-Servicemen's orchestra rendering excellent music. The toast of the guest was proposed by his grandfather, Mr. Marshall Laing, of New Lynn, and that of tho host and hostess by Mr. L. Munro, of St. Helier's. Good wishes were also' expressed 011 behalf of those present by Mr. and Mrs. Hooper and Mr. G. Doherty. Mrs. Laing received- her guests in a frock of navy knit silk trimmed with red and white.
