Bowling Pairs.
CENTRE CHAMPIONSHIP. Denison, Duncan, Clark and Ritchie Semi-Finalists. The Auckland Bowling Centre's annual pairs championship tournament was continued to-day on the Epsom green, when the winners of the sections who had qualified on Tuesday and Wednesday assembled for post-section play. As there were thirteen section winners, and the "sudden death" principle was followed, three byes were Riven in the first round, and the remaining ten competed, their five matches having the effect of reducing the original thirteen pairs to eight. After two more rounds this afternoon the field would be reduced to two. pairs, leaving only the final to be played. Results: — FIRST ROUND. ,T. R. Mel'liail and .T. \V. Barker (Auckland) 21. v. 11.
