The Waikato Club. AGA KHAN'S MEMORIAL. Favourite Takes Trial—Riotous Scores from Cruachan in Hurdles The Waikato Racing Club is holding its summer meeting at r le Rapa to-da\ in cold and dull weather. The track is ill good order and the attendance large. Bally money, Lady Diana, Lady Diacquenod, and Springtime were the. defections from the Trial Stakes, and when the totalisator closed most money came for Mungacre, with Arawa Rose and Csjmpanero next in request. When they were let go Tuungacre and Englishman were first prominent, and this pair lod across the top attended by Curlew, Campanero, Calcutta, and Tassau. Mungacre was first to turn for home from* 3 Englishman, Campanero, Calcutta, and Arawa Rose.. Holding his own, Mungacre went on to win comfortably by two lengths, with Etcetera another two lengths away third. Campanero was fourth, and then came Curlew, Arawa Rose, Wynne's Delight, Rex Victor, and En Tour.

Brown Abbey Fails. Five withdrawals from tlic Frankton Hurdles left a field of ten to face the i,tarter, and when the final figures had I,ecu adjusted the favourite selections were Brown Abbey, Riotous and Cruachan. A good start was effected, but 'in reaching the first fence Stanchion fell and nearly brought down Ciuachan, his rider making a good recovery. Val Watch was the pilot passing the stand, about a length clear of Riotous, Unoco, Brown Abbey, Hakanoa, Simeon and Cruachan. The order was much the same along the back, where Hakanoa fell and Val Watch was still in charge across the top from Unoco, Simeon, Riotous, Cruachan and Lucess. Unoco was the leader into the straight with Val Watch, Riotous, Simeon and Cruachan following in close order. Riotous finished on very solidly and went on to win by a length and three-quarters from Cruachan, with Val Watch threequarters of a length away third. Simeon was fourth, then came Unoco, Lucess, Ruby Meteor and Brown Abbey. The Juvenile Event. King Brierly and Stormy Weather failed to keep their engagement in the Juvenile Handicap, and Royal Appellant was installed a strong favourite, with Xamakia and Lion Heart carrying solid support. When the field settled down, Waitaka, Royal Appellant and Xamakia were the leaders, and across the top Xamakia was in front from Kaith Lu, Cynara, Royal Appellant. Lion Heart and Lifeguard. Xamakia was iirst to hit the straight from Cvnara, Keith Lu, Lion Heart, who ran verywide, and Royal Appellant. Nothing had a chance with Xamakia, and she went 011 to win comfortably by two lengths and a half from Royal Appellant, with Lion Heart, finishing 011, the same distance away third. Waitaka was fourth, followed by Lifeguard. Keith Lu, Cay Sister, Cynara and Fast Acre. Surprise In Chief Event. Eight started in the principal event, the Storey Memorial, aiul Master Brierly was the public elect, witli Knight of Australia and King March carrying ;-olid support. At the start Mungatoon was out, and led Aga Khan, Royal Artist, King March, Gibraltar and Master Brierly, but along the back was joined by Aga Khan, and they were attended by Royal Artist, King March, (Gibraltar, Knight of Australia, Master Brierly and Bcrvl Latour. There was not much change crossing the top, and Mungwtoon and Aga Khan led at the turn, from Gibraltar, Royal Artist. King March, Knight of Australia and Master Brierly. Knight of Australia came fast in the straight, but had no chance of overhauling Aga Khan, who stayed 011 to win nicely by a length and a half. Royal Artist being two lengths away third. Mungatoon was fourth, then followed King March. Master Brierly, Beryl Latour and Gibraltar.
