AIR MAIL SHARES.
J. P. MORGAN" SELLS IN TIME. WASHINGTON, March 6. The president of the New York Stock Exchange, Mr. Richard Whitney, gave evidence before the committee of the Senate which is investigating air mail contracts ■ that J. P. Morgan and Company sold 4000 shares of United Aircraft just before the contracts were cancelled. All aviation shares after that fell sharply. Various other sales were made by other individuals and companies, but the Morgan concern was the most prominent among them.
