Imprisoned Communist's Evidence Not Admitted. ALLEGATION OP SEDITION. (Received 1.30 p.m.) TORONTO, March 6. Tim Buck, the Communist leader -who is serving seven years for conspiracy, ■was not permitted to testify at the trial of the Rev. A. E. Smith, for sedition. The prisoner had just taken the box vrhen the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Peter White, objected on the grounds that even if Buck was shot at it did not prove Mr. Smith's declaration that the Premier, Mr. R. B. Bennett, had ordered it. Three defence witnesses denied fJiat Mr. Smith had made such a statement as was charged against him. The allegation is that Mr. Smith said that Mr. Bennett had ordered Tim 'Buck' to be shot in his cell.
