HIDES AND SKINS
SALE AT PARNELL. At yesterday's sale of sheepskins and hides at the Parnell stores there was a full attendance of buyers. Hides were fairly steady at about late rates, but dry skins were slightly easier. Tallow also showed an easier tendency. Following are quotations, the letter P indicating that the line referred to was passed unfold: — Sheepskins.—Dry: Fine crossbred, 9'.4d per lb; medium crossbred, 7d; coarse crossbred, 6Vid; half to three-quarter wool, 6d; quarter to half wool, 4 1 / id; quarter wool, 4d: lambs, S%d; pelts. 3 J /2d. Salted: Bast, 5/6 each; good, 4/ to 5/; medium, 3/ to 4/; lambs, 2/6 to 4/. Hides. —Abattoirs: Extra heavy ox, 6d (pi per lb; heavy, 6Vid (p); medium, 6M:d (p); light, 6'.id (p); extra heavy cow, 5d heavy, 5Ud (p); medium, 5% (p); light, S'/id (p); kips, 6d (p); yearlings, 7d (p); best calf, 8d (p); good, 8d ip). Country butchers: Extra heavy ox. per lb; heavy, (5%d; medium, 6%d; light, 6d; extra heavy cow, oVid (p); heavy, 514 d (p); medium, 4%d (p); light, 4v&d (p); kips, s',id (pi; yearlings, 5d (p); best calf, 7%d (p); good, 0d (p); inferior and damaged, 3',6d. Tallow. —Best mixed, 14/ per cwt; medium, 11/ to 13/; poor, 0/ to 10/.
