LONDON SALES OPEN. FAIRLY STRONG COMPETITION. BUT PRICES LOWER. (Received 11 a.m.) LOXDON, March 0. At the wool sales 79,55 bales were offered, including 2554 New Zealand, and of which 3277 bales were sold. There was a moderate selection, and a large attendance with keen general bidding. Merinos (greasy) show 5 per cent decline, scoured.-, par to 5 per cent lower, crossbreds, medium, o to 10 per cent, lower, coarse 10 per cent lower, slipes 10 per cent lower. German activity is expected to influence the sale, as they habitually pay much attention to wool offered in London, and also has thus far bought lens than usual iu Australia. THE BANK'S REPORT. The Bank of Xew Zealand has received the following advice from iu London office, under date of March 6:—The sales have opened with fairly strong competition.
