THIRD WOOL SALE. VALUES AT DUNEDIN. ANIMATED COMPETITION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNRDIN, this day. While the market was down from Id to lid oh the February values, the |prices realised at the third wool r-lc this morning were better than anticipated in view of the tendencies of the northern sales. The total catalogue was 2.5.2-19 bales. Karly competition was more animated than at the last sale, especially for the finer wools. Of tlte first catalogue submitted the bulk was sold, (lie only passings being low grade crossbreds and a few oth;r lots on which the reserves were too high. The total passings represented C per cent. The demand was more widespread, with the Continent lifting the bulk of the fine wools and the local mills taking the lots suitable for their trade. The crossbred wool went chiefly to Bradford. Generally the wool is heavier conditioned, the percentage of crossbred being greater. This was reflected in the values, which wore below those at the second auction. Fine pieces were firm on February rates. The top price so far is 22d for super Corricdale, grown at Moa Flat. Market Trend. At the end of the morning the wool sale market showed a decline from Id to Hd per pound on fine wools, 2d on fine crossbreds, and I.UI on crossbreds. Tile top prices were: For five bales of super ha If bred wether, 2 o.UI; five bales of first halfbred wether, 2od; five bales of first halfbred. ewe, 25d; seven bales of halfbred wether, 241 d; three bales of super halfbred hoggets, 24d. The market appears to have reached bottom, and firmed at to-day's values.' ■
