EFFECT OF VIBRATIONS. WELLINGTON, this day. The earthquake was severely felt at the G'astlepoint Lighthouse. A message to the Marine Department says tliat some of the spare parts for the light were thrown from the shelves and the mantle of the light was shattered. The vibration in the lamp room was bo gi'e-at that much of the mercury on which the revolving apparatus for the light floats was spilled from the trough.
