AUCKLAND CENTRE,
Pairs Championship. — Bowls Tourney Continued.
The open pairs tournament of the Auckland Bowling Centre was continued this 1 morning on seven greens, when the fourtu j round was played. After the fifth round this afternoon, any scction tics were to bo played off, leaving the thirteen section winners to procced to the Epsom green to-morrow morning for the post-section play. This will take four rounds, and the thirteen pairs qualifying will be reduecd to two by to-morrow evening, and the final is usually timed to suit the convenience of the surviving players. Eighty pairs are engaged, a number which lias been exceeded only once since j this tournament was instituted nine years ago. This morning's results, with only one more round to bo played, will give a fair indication of the likely pairs to qualify, but in some sections the leading players are sufficiently close to ensure keen interest until the last bowl in the fifth round is played.
