NEW EXPRESS STOPS.
PAPAKURA INCLUDED. A. decision to make Papakura a Stopping-place for the Rotorua express lias been announced by the general manager of railways, Mr. G. H. Mackley, in a letter to the Papatoetoe Welfare League. The league made a request to the Railway Department to include Papakura as a stop for all expresses, bi:t the general manager says that it is impracticable to include Papakura in the .Main Trunk time-table. There will have to be some change in the running of the Rotorua express, which will atfect some of the suburban trains as well, and the Department states that it is not desirable to introduce the additional stop in the Auckland-Rotorua time-table until after the Easter season.
To make closer connection with the express from Rotorua to Auckland tlio present 3.51 p.m. Papakura-Auckland train will leave Papakura at 3.35 p.m., Papatoetoe at 3.54 p.m., and arrive at Auckland at 4.26 p.m. The general manager considers the new stops should be beneficial to suburban residents, and that they should add to the value of the express services.
