ARCH HILL DRAINAGE.

PREPARATION OF SCHEME. The Karangahape Road Business Promotion Society has been advised by the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board that an early start is to be made with the construction of the Arch Hill Gully storm water culvert from tile western boundary of Newton Central schoolground to the Great North Road. The estimated cost is £25,775. A decision to go 011 with the work was made at the December meeting of the board. It will be carried out by workmen drawn from the Drainage Board's area under scheme 5, but the board will pay the difference between relief rates anil award rates. There is yet some months of preparation and the raising of the necessary loan.
