SERIOUS BREACH.
Japanese Protest Against Soviet. FISHING RIGHTS OFF SIBERIA. (Received 9.30 a.m.) TOKYO, February 21. The Soviet authorities at Vladivostock have thrown out as invalid Japanese tenders for the fishing grounds in Soviet waters off the Siberian coast. This action is regarded as a serious breach of the agreement between the nations, and the Government is to protest to Moscow.
FASTEST TRAVELLER.
SKI-ING AT 81 MILES AN HOUR. (Received 1.30 p.m.) ST. MORITZ (Switzerland), Feb. 21. An Austrian, Leo Gasper!, won the flying kilometre on skis, travelling at 81 miles an hour and earning the title of the world's fastest traveller unaided by mechanical means. COBHAM TOO BUSY. PROPOSED NON-STOP FLIGHT. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 21. Sir..Alan Cobham states that owing to his many engagements in England he is still unable to carry out his proposed non-stop, refuelling flight to Australia.
