WINTER DROUGHT.
Water Famine in England Grows Daily More Serious. MANY DISTRICTS SUFFER. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 21. The water famine, resulting from the abnormally dry summer, is growing daily more serious. Huge towns and tiny Tillages are suffering, especially in the north. Manchester itself has only 58 days' supply on hand and is assisting Liverpool with 8,000,000 to 10,000,000 gallons a day. The Government is being urged to introduce emergency measures.
