ST. GEORGE'S CLUB.
The St. George's Rowing Club held the l annual trial fours for the Sir James . Coates Cup and cups during the week-end. 1 Four crews competed and three keenly . contested races resulted before Dean's crew . gained the victory by a foot. In the first heat, W. J. Dean, C. i D'Authreau, S. Sheath. De Malthus defeated ; A. J. Slyfield, P. K. Pike, H. Tong, G. H. . Clav by half a canvas. In the second heat i 3. R. H. Biss, I. C. Horton, H. St. C. i Brown, D. Woollams defeated W. L. Carr, P. Solomon, C. Hilliard, C. M. Brown by . half a length. I The crews of W. J. Dean and J. R. H. • Biss met in the final. Biss jumped the ■ lead from the start and held a slight advantage until just on the finish when Dean came with a great challenge and got . the verdict by one foot.
