PUHOI BRIDGE REOPENED

TEMPORARY STRUCTURE USED (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAKGAREI, this day. The Puhoi bridge, portion of which was carried away by floods on Friday night, was again in use this morning. Wliile it was out of commission traffic was considerably inconvenienced. The district Public Works engineer recently secured a stock of steel tramway rails from Auckland, some of which were used for a temporary detour bridge 011 the Hungary Creek Road, near Puhoi. The Hungary Creek bridge was on the point of completion, so that it was possible to dismantle the temporary structure, and place it in position at Puhoi. All that was then necessary was to drive piles to replace those carried away by the flood.
