NOT ABNORMAL.

PRINCE'S PROMOTION " DUE. (Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, February 14. The "Daily Telegraph" naval correspondent says that as Prince George lias completed exactly eight years as a lieutenant, he was, in any case, due for advancement to lieutenant-commander by seniority. The promotion of one step higher, therefore, is not abnormal. Had his health not necessitated his withdrawal from active duty in 1929, he would doubtless have made the Navy his life's career, and would soon have been commander of his own ship. Prince George reached commander's rank at the age of 31. The Prince of Wales was captain at 25, at which age the Duke of York was made a commander, but neither was a regular sailor.
