NORTHCOTE AND BIRKENHEAD REGATTA.

OPEN RACES TO BE HELD. The annual regatta promoted by the residents of Birkenhead and Northcote will be held on Saturday, February 17, the side shows taking place a week later, near the Birkenhead wharf. At the last meeting of the committee, of which Mr. R. R. Hayman was elected chairman, it was decided to throw open to allcomers seven of the sailing races. The classes are A. B, C and E keel yachts, H h and N classes of mullet boats, V, S. T and X. Y and Z classes. In addition th"re will be a race for local yachts, 18ft and under, local launches and naval whalers. Entries will close on Monday. Februarlv 12. Messrs. B. Mayall. A. Couldrey, E. 'Jordan, H. Wilkins, K. C. Fowler. Alan Clark and M. were appointed handicappers.
