JEWISH REFUGEES.

International Conference Held In London. SETTLEMENT PROBLEMS. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 31. The representatives of 12 Governments and 14 international relief organisations attended a conference of the German Refugees' Committee. Viscount Cecil presided. It was stated that of 60,000 refugees 7000 went to Palestine and 6000 to Poland. Whereas 10,000 to 15,000 might bo capable of providing for themselves, occupations should bo found for 10,000, but Britain could not lodge these indefinitely. She must enable them to become self-supporting through some system of colonisation. It was resolved to continue appeals and to urge provision for reasonable apprenticeship facilities.
