LABOUR STALWART.
POLITICIAN AND SOLDIER. (Received 9.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The death occurred yesterday at Adamstowii, near Newcastle, of Mr. Hugh Connell, aged 50, one of the miners' representatives in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. He was chairman of committees and a stalwart official of the Labour party. Mr. Connell served with distinction in the war and attained the rank of major.
