SWEARING-IN CEREMONY.
FIRST DUTIES TO-MORKOW.

WELLINGTON, Wednesday.
Mr. F. Johnston, .who has been appointed to the Supreme Court Bench to fill the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr. Justice Adams, will be sworn in to-morrow by the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers. He will commence hie duties to-morrow, which marks the beginning of the judicial year. It is underetood he will take his seat on the Bench for the first time in Christchurch as presiding judge at the first quarterly sessions of the year, opening there next Tueeday. Mr. W. W. King, who was associate to the late Mr. Justice Hosking for a number of yeare, has been appointed associate to Mr. Justice Johneton.
