WHANGAREI NOTES.

Mr. and Mrs. Andrews, of Powhiri Avenue, Whangarei, held an evening in honour of Captain and Mrs. Dawson, of Auckland, on the occasion of their silver wedding, on Saturday last. Members of the family were present, and the guest* also included Mrs. Mann, Mrs. Birchell, sen. (England), Mrs. Birchell, jun., Mrs. Barnes, Mi's. Scow, Mrs. Nairn, Miss A. Dawson, Miss J. Dawson (Auckland), Miss Birchell (England), Miss E. Wilson, .Miss P. Wilson, Miss Jones. . The table was tastefully decorated with zinnas and dahlias. A most enjoyable evening was spent after reading many telegrams from friends.
