EX-SOLDIERS , DANCE.

A dance and whist drive were held on Monday evening in the Birkdale Public Hall, with the object of augmenting the fund for the proposed Birkenhead Returned Soldiers' Memorial Hall. Mr. F. Tothill was the master of ceremonies, while Mr. A. Manson supervised the card tables. The music wae provided by the Merrymakers' orchestra. The supper arrangements were under the control of Messrs. F. Brandon, J. Douglas, S. Christie, E. Whiteside, and T. Barker. The prizewinners were: Monte Carlo, Mies Monica Bowker and Mr. G. Stitt, and Mrs. B. Mayall and Mr. Carter; whist, Mrs. R. G.
