The Mayoress of Auckland, Mrs. George Hutchison, returned to town last evening from her summer vacation, which was spent at her beach residence at Maulv.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cerutty, of Epsoin, accompanied by Miss Marjorio Cerutty, leave on the holiday trip by the Wanganella for the Northern cruise this evening.
South Africa's only woman member of Parliament, Mrs. Deny Rcltz, made her maiden speech recently. It was the first time a woman's voice had been heard in the House of Assembly.
