BEHLEI (N.Z.), LIMITED. DIVIDEND INCREASED. lii their tenth annual report the directors of Berlei (N.Z.), Limited, state that the profit for the year ended December 19, alter making due allowance tor depreciation and ineoine tax, amounts to £5740. To this is added the balance brought forward from last year, £1720. A dividend of 'M per shave paid in July absorbed £1312, leaving a balance at credit of profit and loss account of £6100. From this the directors recommend payment of a final dividend of 1/ per share, which will fake £1750, and the transfer to reserve account of £2750. The report states that despite most difficult trading conditions, sales for the year have been maintained. PlaUt and machinery have been kept in a iflyh state of efficiency. The retiring directors are Messrs. N. Z. Brodziak and S. S. Scott, who are nominated for reelection. In 1933 the net profits were £5805. Ihe dividend for that year was 1/6 a share and £300 was transferred to reserves. BROKEN HILL SOUTH. FURTHER DIVIDEND PAYABLE. Broken Hill South, Limited, has advised the Stock Exchange Association that a dividend of 1/6 a share lias been declared. It is payable in Melbourne on March 10. This is the third distribution made for the current year, which ends on June 30. Dividends of 1/ each were paid in September and December, 1033, so that to date 17V4 per cent lias been declared. There was very keen competition for Sheepskins and hides at the fortnightly sale held on Friday by the combined Wellington brokers. Prices for sheepskins were very firni at the advance registered last sale, fine woolled lots showing a tendency to harden further Salted pelts arid short wools were in good request at slightly better figures. Hides were keenly competed for by both tanners and exporting buyers at a general advance of Msd to %d per lb. Kip and yearlings were barely up to last sale's level", excepting in heavy Weights.
