HELD OFF MARKET. In Bonii in Canada Till Local Surplus Is Sold. AORANGI'S 1650 BOXES. [United P.A.-Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 3 p.m.) VICTORIA (8.C.), January 25. On instructions from Ottawa 1650 boxes of New Zealand butter arriving on the Aorangi will be held in bond by the Customs. The importing wholesalers state that they could sell the New Zealand butter cheaper than Canadian after paying five cents a pound duty and three cents a pound excise. It is reported that Ottawa is holding tlio produce until Canadian surplus had been used up.
