WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
Te ZOWHAI. Members of the Te Kowhai Women's Institute assembled in the hall to discuss business, and then proceeded to the home of Mrs. Cox, where a most enjoyable garden party was held. LICHFIELD. The first meeting for the new year of the Lichfield Institute, was presided over by Mrs. Sleper. The roll call for the meeting was: "The use of lemon juice.' Many good hints were given. Next month the roll call is to be: "A cure for a fit of the blues." The social part of the meeting took the form of a "Book Afternoon." The prize for the best representation was won by Mrs. H. Hobman. Tho judges were Mrs. Ruttle (Perth, West Australia) and Miss E. Tate (Auckland). The prize for guessing the largest number of titles was won by Miss Ena Bowman. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Wooderson, Kinlock and Ranger.
