"LIFE OF CHRIST."
Warning Against Publication Of Dickens' Work. OFFER REFUSED BY SON. LONDON, January 14. On behalf of the late Sir Henry Dickens' widow, who claims the copyright, solicitors have issued a warning against the publication in its entirety or of extracts from the "Life of Christ." It is believed that an American publisher, during Sir Henry's lifetime, offered £10,000 for the manuscript, but the offer was rejected on sentimental grounds. Sir Henry, however, indicated that he would not object to the publication of the work after his death.
