CAPTURE OR DEATH.
REDUCING U.S. BANDITS.

Western American o.utlaw ranks have been reduced by the capture of Elmer Inman, the desperado who wooed and married the daughter of a warden at Kansas Penitentiary while serving Ins previous term of imprisonment. Inman recently robbed a bank at Harrah, Oklahoma, and escaped in a motor car, wlncli became bogged during a police chase. Inman tried to shoot his way out, but the police surrounded him and two companions. He was a member of the famous Ray Terrell gang of robbers, but made such a model prisoner in Kansas Penitentiary three years ago that he became chauffeur of the warden s car, theu married the warden's daughter. She divorced him after he used his father-in-law's car, helping former robber friends to escape.
Police and death have taken a heavy toll of gangsters in the Middle-West lately. Wilbur Underhill, named "The Three-State Terror," died following an encounter with police who shot him with machine-guns from two directions simultaneously.
