OUTSTANDING BOOKS.
The Fcmina Vie Heurcuse and Northnliffo Prizes Committee met recently in London to vote for the threo English works of imagination to be recommended to the French committee. From these threo the French committee will ehooee the book which will receive the Femina Vie Heureuse Prize (1033-1(4). The three bookfi chospii were: "To the North," by Elizabeth Bowen; "Invitation to the Waltz," by Rosamond Lehmaiin; "Cold Comfort Farm," by Stella Gibbons. The second two of these have been reviewed in these columns. "Cold Comfort Farm" is an astonishingly clever "take off" of the earthy school of English fiction.
