WOOL IN DEMAND.
Animated Buying at Sydney Sales. PRICES MAKE FIRM ADVANCE. SYDNEY, January 2. There was a very strong market at the resumption of the Sydney wool sales to-day. Comebacks and crossbreds participated to the fullest extent in the advance. Excellent clearances were effected. Greasy Merino made to 28Jd for 51 bales from Uralla. The offerings totalled 8634 bales, of which 8399 were sold. Also 1245 bales were sold privately.
