SURFDALE REGATTA.
SAILING RACES POSTPONED. The Surfdale regatta, twice previously postponed, was partly held yesterday when a change in weather after the boats had assembled caused a further postponement of the set programme, which has now been fixed for Easter Monday. Af the request of the boat-owners who did not have to seek more sheltered bays, a general handicap race was held in which eight yachts took part.
I The finish was timed : —Drone (ser), Hi 33m 40s; Rona M. (9m), lh 36m 335; Jupiter (6m), lh 3Gm 50s; Desdemona (4121), lh 40m 40s; Janet (12m), lh 41m 20s; Cariad (12m), lh 40ra 455; Sunbeam and Hebe did not finish. The placings on corrected times were:— Rona M. 1, Janet 2, Jupiter 3. The officials were:—Judge, Mr. B. Smith ; starter and timekeeper, Mr. AY. A. Wilkinson. ROCKY BAY REGATTA. A regatta was held yesterday at Omiha (Rocky Bay), Walhekc, promoted by Mr. W. J. Matthew and residents of the bay. There was a rough sea, and the sou'-west wind did not permit of much shelter. Consequently there were fewer entries than had been expected. Rsults :— V Class Yachts.—Mystic 1, Martha S 2.
