MANY TURF EVENTS.
NINE MORE MEETINGS TO-DAY. KILTOWYN WINS AT ELLERSLIE. MIA STELLA AND BURNISH VICTORIOUS. In addition to the final programme of the Auckland Racing Club's summer carnival there are eight other turf meetings in the Dominion this afternoon. Races are taking place at Stratford, Marton, Hastings, Tauherenikau, Oamaru, Invercargill and Greymouth. There is one trotting event, the wind-up of the Canterbury Park Club's meeting. At Ellerslie there is another good attendance, and as the weather is fine the track is very fast. Pomp led the field home in the Goodwood Handicap, Karangapai and Epigram filling the minor places. Burnish proved to be the smartest juvenile, beating Sporting Blood and Royal Appellant home in the Sylvia Handicap. In the principal handicap Kiltowyn, Master Brierly and Lord. Val paid the dividends. Mia Stella, like the previous winner, scored his second victory at the meeting, beating Snow Prince and Patutahi.
