PRODUCE REPORT. The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received a market report from its London office, dated December 29. The report is as under, with figures for last week and last year given in parentheses, in the ordei 4 :— Butter. —New Zealand: Salted, 60/ to 68/, exceptional 09/ (08/ to 70/), (83/ to 84/); equals approximately 7.6 d f.0.b.; nnsalted, 70/ to 72/ (74/ to 70/). (88/ to 90/). Deliveries New Zealand 1426 tons, in store 3000 tons. This includes 1587 tons Port Nicholson and Rnngitiki. Australian: Salted, 66/ to 68/ (68/ to 70/), ( ); nnsalted, G6/ to 70/ (72/ to 76/), ( ). Deliveries Australian 2265 tons, in store 2362 tons. Latvian, nnsalted, 87/ to 90/; Siberian, 62/ to 03/. The market is steady. Retail prices are unchanged. Argentine: Unsalted, 66/ to 70/ (72/ to 74/), ( ); Danish, 78/ f.0.b., 100/ to 102/ spot (95/ to 115/6), ( ). The market is slow. Dutch, unsalted, 100/ to 104/ (quiet). The Empire Marketing Board estimates stocks of all butters at 406,452 boxes (last year 586,501 boxes). Cheese. —New Zealand, white, 47/ to 48/ (5.1 d f.0.b.), (48/ to 49/), (50/ to 51/); coloured, 44/ to 44/6 (4.7 cl f.0.b.), (44/ to 45/), (56/ to 57/). Deliveries New Zealand 9300 crates, in store 37,000 crates. This includes 9200 crates Rangitiki. Australian: White, 46/ ( ), ( ); coloured, 42/ to 43/ (44/), ( ); Canadian, white and coloured, 46/ to 50/, market is slow, (46/ to 53/), (— —■). Deliveries Canadian GOOO boxes, in store 226,406 boxes. The market is steady. Retail priccs are unchanged.

The Tort Nicholson commenced discharge of butter and cheese on December 21, and finished cheese the next day. The Rangitiki commenced discharge of butter and cheese December 22, and finished butter on the 29th. The board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada: — Gutter: New Zealand, 20 ccnta; Montreal, 25 cents. Canadian stocks, 2562 tons (last year 4146). Shipments from New Zealand are:— Karamea, sailed December 30: Butter, (boxes), salted 68,980, unsalted 4804, whey 446; cheese (crates), white 8884, coloured 2471 Otira, sailed December 31: Butter, 20,352, 1880, 1808; cheese, 7341, 2464. Cheese gradings for week ended December 23 are: 38,982 crates white, and 15,722 coloured.

The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated December 28, advising that the following are the approximate average prices realised for the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smitlifield market, and/or ex London stores: — * Sheep.—Canterbury and North Island selected crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, 48/561b, 5d per lb; 57/641b, 4%d; 65/721b, 4%d; North Island, 48/5611), sd; 57/641b, 4%d; 65/721b, 4Vsd; ewes, 481b and under, 4'/ 2 d; 48/641b, 3%d; 65/721b, 3%d. Mutton: Wethers and ewes both very firm, owing to short spot stocks. Beef. —Trade rather slow, owing to lower prices of Argentine chilled beef. New Zealand porker pigs: Market steady, with fair trade. Baconers: Prices nominal, owing to curers still obtaining plentiful supplies of home-killed.
