On the resumption of the trial by a military tribunal, on a charge of sedition, of Commandant Cronin (General O'Duffy's associate), Mr. Joseph Dennigan, political correspondent of the "Irish Press," declined as a matter of privilege to disclose the official source whence he obtained confirmation of the news that members of the Young Ireland Association would be allowed a short period in which to cease membership's The president of the Court disallowed his plea of privilege, but permitted him to communicate with his editor. The latter said a disclosure of the source of information would be a breach of confidence. Mr. Dennigan, therefore, persisted in his refusal. He was sentenced to one month's imprisonment for contempt of Court.

CRONIN'S TRIAL. Found Not Guilty on Main Charge. MUST KEEP PEACE. (Received 1 p.m.) DUBLIN, December 29. The promulgation of the Court's judgment revealg that Commandant Cronin had been found not. guilty of sedition, but guilty of membership of unlawful associations —the Young Ireland party and the National Guard. He was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, but this will not be enforced if, within a fortnight, he enters into a recognisance of £50 to keep the peace for two years. ■ Air. McEnery, the Prosecutor, contended that Commandant Cronin's conduct during the raid, when ho was arrested, impeded the machinery of the Government.
