MUST BE DIPPED.
CALVES FOR WESTFIELD. HOLD-UP IN NORTH. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. At the present time farmers in the Purua and Kamo districts have numbers of vealer calves which they wish to send to Westfield, but they are prevented from doing, so as they cannot get the animals dipped. This position arises because the Agricultural Department has tightened the conditions and has made dipping a compulsory prelude to shipping to Westfield. ■ . • .
On the other hand, the Kamo Dip Committee has not the funds to fill the dip without the likelihood of an adequate return.
