MINISTERS ARRIVE.

VACATIONS IN THE NORTH. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Finance, and the Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Health, arrived by the Limited this morning. Mr. Coates was met by representatives of the "Friendly Road," who expressed appreciation for what the Government had done in respect to leaving them on the air. Mr. Coates left later by car for Matakoho. He will spend the Christmas vacation at his beach cottage on the West Coast, near Dargaville. He may fly to Auckland next Tuesday to witness the running of the Auckland Cup race at Ellerslie. Mr. Young will spend the Christmas with his mother, Mrs. Sarah Young, at Mount Eden. She is 90 years of age, and still hale and hearty, reading her paper every day arid taking a great interest in affairs. The Minister will go North on Tuesday to spend a few days 011 his dairy 'farm at Mangawai. where, he has a pedigree Jersey herd.
