SOUTH ISLAND TRAFFIC. RAIL AXD FERRY. (By Telegraph.—-Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Exceptionally heavy railway travelling, even for a holiday period, is reported at South Island stations. An official stated this morning that men who had been with the Department from before the war could not remember heavier bookings than at Christchureli this Christmas. The ferry steamer Waliine this morning brought a full complement from Wellington. She takes 800 passengers north to-night, and the Rangatira takes 900 north to-morrow, all being booked already.
