LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
The Dominion Road branch of the League of Mothers held a children's party on Thursday afternoon in the Methodist Centenary Hall, when there were present 100 children and their mothers, as well as branch members. The hall was gay with flowers, coloured streamers and balloons, and the centre of attraction was a gaily decorated Christmas tree loaded with presents. Mrs. Barnes, president of the branch, presided. A short programme of items given entirely by children followed. Noreen Peck and Jimmy Peck gave recitations, and song and dance items were given in costume by Patsy and Hope Odium and Joan Leslie, and two Scotch dances by Misses Campbell and O'Malley. At the conclusion of the programme paper hats were distributed among the children, and Father Christinas appeared. Each child was then given a toy, a bag of sweets and a balloon. The committee responsible for the success of the party were Mesdames Barnes, Marks, Fleming, Streeter, Hinkley, Finn, Goble, Peck and Creeks.
