PARLIAMENT'S WORK.
MANY BILLS PASSED. FORMAL END TO-DAY. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The House of Representatives, working at high speed in the hope of finishing the session, yesterday adopted the supplementary estimates, and passed th& following bills: —Sales Tax Amendment, Land and Income Tax Amendment, Small Farms (Relief of Unemployment) Amendment, Reserves and Other Lands Disposal, Local Legislation, Native Purposes, Mortgagors and Tenants' Relief, Coal Mines Amendment, Dairy Industry Amendment, Law of Libel Amendment, New Zealand Branch of the British Red Cross and Order of St. John Empowering, and Co-operative Pig Marketing Companies. After adjourning for several hours to enable the Legislative Council to deal with these measures the Prime Minister informed the House it would be impossible to complete the work in the Upper House till Friday, therefore the brief sitting ended with adjournment till 11 a.m. to-day, when formalities were disposed of.
