EARLY HOLIDAY-MAKERS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) . WHANGAREI, this day. Although no official figures are yet ivailable, it was stated this morning :hat railway traffic to Auckland and ihe South is appreciably heavier than ;hat to the North. At the same time, lowever, large numbers of people are ;ravelling on the northern expresses. Comparison with the figures for the ;ame period last year are not yet available. Goods traffic has been excepiionally heavy also. A large quantity >f petrol has been moved North to .apply the holiday demand. The northward trek of motorists has ilready begun, and a number passed hrough yesterday on their way to 'arious beach resorts. The Automobile Association has received many inquiries is to touring itineraries in the North Auckland district, and reports that ■forth Auckland is to be much favoured his season.
