LATE SIR A. BANKART.
PATRIOTIC SERVICES. Deep regret was expressed at the death of Sir Alfred Bankart when the executive of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic and War Relief Association met yesterday afternoon. Sir Alfred was a joint honorary treasurer of the association. The following resolution was passed by the executive: "This executive records with the deepest regret the passing of Sir Alfred Bankart, joint honorary treasurer of this association since its inception in 1915, and a member of this executive continuously. Sir Alfred Bankart rendered most signal, service to this association, his work in conjunction with his co-treasurer being marked by outstanding ability and closest attention to all the financial interests of the association, which he safeguarded with great thoroughness. Not only as treasurer, but as a member of the executive, he will be greatly missed, for he displayed earnest devotion to and sustained interest in the work to the last. The executive therefore records its highest appreciation of his services and extends to Lady Bankart an assurance of it 3 deepest sympathy."
